Good thing. I was going to say that the vpopmail username/password
could be used to mysqldump the db. You don't need the root pass for
backing up and restoring the QmailToaster. Since the QmailToaster
stores this in a file (i think the older versions stored this in

Hi,
I installed QT v1 early 2004 for a friend of mine and now that I got
my own QT updated and working, he wanted me to help him do his as
well.
Not he nor I remember the MySQL root password.
What are my options or finding it/resetting it without causing email loss?
Thanks in advance!

I noticed this error in my /var/log/qmail/send logs. What seems to be the problem?

Thanks for the email.
I guess it has run 5 times since I posted the message because I'm not
seeing the problem any more. Quite an oddity there.

Hi Nigel,
Run the following command 5 times:
env LANG=C /usr/bin/mrtg /usr/share/toaster/mrtg/qmailmrtg.cfg
5 times sounds nutz, but it will get all the right files overwritten.
Then, edit crontab and replace:
root /usr/bin/mrtg /usr/share/toaster/mrtg/qmailmrtg.cfg
with
env LANG=

I rebuild my simscan and then added a control file

Hi Erik,
This config has been wrong from the beginning of time. Apparently some
distros are more tolerant than others. RH based distros seem to work OK,
Mandriva (not Mandrake) and SuSE fail to display the graphs.

I'm certainly no expert, but your hosts file doesn't look right to me. Here
is what I have in my /etc/hosts file:
127.0.0.1 mail.fqdn.tld localhost.localdomain localhost
192.168.1.2mail.fqdn.tldlocalhost.localdomain localhost
Obviously the second line starts with
Ehm..
never mind this one.. had nothing todo with
qmail..
(just for the info)
I had an wildcard in my dns, and for some odd
reason the wildcard had precedence over other entries..
Just since a few days that is.. afaik this is non
correct behaviour.
