Dear Team,

I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work

Hi List.
I'm having a big spam problem. It seems that my users DB have been
compromised, and I'm receiving authenticated connections from outside, that
are used to send tons of spam. I have managed to identify some users and
changed there pwd. But as soon as I stop one user, they start to use

Hello list,
I have 2 users sending email from cell phones and using their Qmail Toasters
as outgoing mail servers. It seems that somehow the cell phone company,
Verizon and Sprint in these cases, is somehow implementing an intermediary
server between the Toaster and the cell phone. This

Also you might try changing the smtp port to 465 or 587. Then if it's
really Sprint/Verizon intercepting the packets destined for your mailserver,
maybe it only cares about

I may be wrong about an intermediary server, but I 'deduced' that there was
an intermediary because of different phone settings I tried. I have the
Toaster set up with TLS and authentication. When the cell phone users sets

Seems likely it may be the standard ISP ploy of not allowing smtp on port 25
so they can control email going out of their domain. I would (and do) use
submission port and see if that works for you. Hope that helps.

P.S. It seems their play did not work too well if they are

Dear List,
When upgrading spamdyke I got the following errors when the install process
checked graylist directories as a part of the spamdyke configuration file.
Should this be worrisome?
ERROR(graylist-level): Failed to create file in directory:
You are not the only one, i think there is a new virus out there, that
stealls passwords and sends them to his owner...
Anyway, for those specific users you can disable smtp-auth with vmoduser

After that call your users and tell them that you will reset their

Glad to hear that, Eric.
I'm not certain how the mobile phones handle submissions, so I was
guessing to some degree.
Looks now as though you had the old RBL problem. This happened as well
with users submitting from dynamic IP addresses, which is quite common.
There are 2 general solutions.

recreated and using the blacklists file. This '../smtp/run' file had a

Greetings All,
I'd forgotten that the install script removes the mdadm package (which
is fine if you don't need it, but we run software RAID).
I assume it's safe to add it back in once the scripts are done?
TIA,
