Onne more time, quads lose the ability to regulate their body temp properly.
The hypothalmus gland under the brain now functions irregularly if at all. This
gland regulates your body temp. The sweating is from mild AD probably caused
by pain from someplace, could be uti or bowel, but usually pa

Yes drastically. Our house was always known as the cool place-only

I moved to the Phoenix area from Seattle because of the cold/damp climate. I
basically lived covered in shits, sweaters, scarfs, etc., while sitting by
the gas/wood stove. Now I wear t-shirts and spend hours a day sitting in the
sun. I can take some cold as long as it is sunny. The

Q,
if you get a hold of the old style electric blankets (eBay perhaps), they
will fully work with an X-10 unit (on/off). Although, they probably aren't
as safe as the new digitally controlled blankets.

Questions:
1. Did your temperature regulation/sensation change due to your SCI? yes
2. Do you now prefer hot or cold temperatures/weather? hot
3. Would you or did you move, after your SCI, to a preferable climate?

The electric blanket thread got me wondering: how many of us on the quad-list

I purchased a Sunbeam electric blanket quite sometime ago and used it with
an X10 appliance module to turn it off. Unfortunately I wasn't able to turn
it back on, because you need to physically hit the switch.
I also used it on a low setting of 2. The only problem I had with it was I

Yannik,
All of you guys have had really good ideas.
Someone on your suggested using Colloidal Silver. I have used that off and
on whenever I have had some symptoms of a UTI in the past. It does help.
Dan,
I used to change mine every two weeks, but my urologist advised me to only

Hi There!
I, too, suffer from often feeling cold (even when I know I'm not) so I've done
two different things instead of using an electric blanket:
1) I bought a microwavable, "Elastogel" neck & shoulder collar to keep me
warm where I feel it most, and
2) We use an electric mattress pad.
Another thought: With an AC-powered blanket you could use an X-10 controller
connected to your computer (CM11-A or Firecracker) to power on/off.

I have used a Sunbeam "electric throw" which is about half the size of an
electric blanket.
When I get into bed I get very cold and use the electric throw from my
waist up. I put it on medium and after I am nice and toasty warm, I usually
fall asleep. In a little while I wake up and toss

Aside: I use an electric blanket in bed, and set to level 2 (out of 10) its
perfect. Warm, but never hot (as long as my bedroom is cool, anyway). Sorry,
