Yes, I have that problem as well. I also put on gloves, it doesn't
warm them up, but at least I don't feel the ice cold skin if I touch
my face. Same problem with my feet, put on heavy socks, sit by the
fireplace. It doesn't necessarily have to be cold in my house at the
time.

Does version 12.5 use the dictation box? If so, unfortunately that's the
way it works. When you transfer the text from the dictation box, it pastes
it when you click the transfer button. I'm using version 14, with it you
can choose not to use the dictation box, but you would have to experiment.
