For a short while I also had the model you are talking about. I
experienced the same problem when I entered my van backwards. I have to
tilt back in order to get into my Van because I am just too damn tall, but
when my front wheels left the floor of the van he was quit

Is the wheelchair new? It doesn't sound very safe. Have you talked to the
manufacture of the wheelchair?
it doesn't sound legal and something they should fix if the dealer won't.
You could easily have an accident.. it is so easy to do by accident. I wish I
had an answer for you.
Greg, sounds pretty hazardous. It would seem that your wheelchair isn't the

Why not enter your van by backing into it. I back up my ramp & have no problems.

I have a TDX5 and it is mid-wheel drive. It has 2 back wheels that have big
springs on them. So when going over a bump, the chair tips back.
Big Problem. When going up the ramp in my van, the chair tips back, lifting
the front wheels off the ground. Then I come back down and hit my head on
the van
