I'm always amazed when people ask the President: 'How are you going
to do/solve XY&Z?' The President isn't a dictator. His only real
power is to suggest to Congress what laws he feels will be good for the nation.

Unfortunately, given the country's huge deficit (thank-you hedge-funders,
corrupt mortgage brokers, and W's foray into Iraq), cuts in
"entitlements" (I hate that inappropriate phrase), namely
Social Security and Medicaid/Medicare are inevitable ...especially,
considering the increasing demands on
Anything is palatable if you place enough real whipped cream over it.
That is today's politics. That being said... I enjoyed the speeches. I enjoy
listening to a standing President who speaks English, and doesn't make up
their own words. I felt as though I was at a pep rally and the speaker
I listened to it all from alll 3 parties, and feel as optimistic now
about O's ability to rescue us from the brink that W left us at after his
departure, as i did 2 years ago. I firmly believe we have a
fruitful 2 years ahead. America will not go quietly into the
night.
