The diodes supplied were 1N4005 , 5 amp diodes . all they are doing is driving the coil of a relay when either the sidelights or the headlamp main beam flash is used so 5 amp should be more than adequate. I used a bridge rectifier on mine as it is easy to mount and comes with Lucas spade connector
