My understanding is that you attach and detach block devices from the dom0
side, and you mount, umount, and eject from the AppVM side.
Is it possible to detach and/or attach block devices from the AppVM side, or is
this something that only dom0 can do?

3.2 also doesnt have current drivers updated for new equipment. I couldn't get

Saying its supported doesnt say much if cant handle new equipment and just old

The manager isnt a distraction. You dont need to focus on it if you choose not

it for work and get others we work with to use it also it is important.

Additionally I would rather donate money to devs that can work on what i need

My problem: new computer (ThinkPad P51) comes with Intel networking
hardware which requires kernel 4.9 to be detected. When installing
Qubes 3.2 one starts of with kernel 4.4.

I found the problem! :-D My /var/lib/qubes/qubes.xml file was corrupted, so it
could not be parsed correctly by qubesd. I restored a previous version from
/var/lib/qubes/backup and now I am back in business! Thanks anyway for checking

Im not sure how easy it is for your hardware. I just had an issue with my new
desktop and not wanting to run v4.
What i did was take out the drive on the desktop and install on the laptop i
have that runs 3.2 just fine. Then i updated the kernel there and changed the
boot files since it doesnt

I recently posted an HCL note here for an i7-7700 ASUS H270 motherboard that
seems to be running Qubes 4.0-rc3 ok and probably takes this DRAM. Read the
ASUS support site to confirm for yourself, of course.
