Once I finished the installation, R just cannot load this library at all,
reporting some error information. I reinstalled R and Winedit and reloaded

The problem with RWinEdt can be resolved by NOT using User Profiles in
WinEdt:
I did a clean re-install of WinEdt 5.4, build 20050114. Then, executing
"library(RWinEdt)" in the RGui did start up a properly configured
R-WinEdt session of WinEdt. No error messages; the expected R buttons

error message would suggest you didn't (or that the installation did not
work)

I am attempting to use R through WinEdt. I installed the SWinRegistry
package and it seems to install fine. But when I type:

Asking the RWinEdt maintainer directly seems to be more appropriate than
asking on R-help.
There is no patch for the package RWinEdt available. Just the release
1.5-0 of that package.
