I´m getting the following error when trying to convert a spatial lines
object into a raster using the rasterize function (package raster):

Ahhh...a missing "+". Probably caused by a lack of caffeine. :)
Thanks also for suggesting the raster package... I will look into this.

Hopefully this question will not be too basic. I have a relatively
large dataset (~25 rows) consisting of lat, long and a data value.
The data has been collected in a regular grid, but the grid is
"tilted". In other words, along a row the latitude values increase
