Dear All,
Does anyone of you know where I could find raster images of snow depth
over Finland, for the past 30 years ? (!)
Or at least the raw data so that I could try computing those rasters ?
Best regards

Hello,
Have a look at spTransform (in rgdal package) and the EPSG code of the
desired projection (this is to me the easiest way not to mess with
digits and various copy errors that can be made while writing the
projection properties) at www.spatialreference.org
then, you just have to do some
tasets-in-compressed-archives-gz-and-zip-td2035285.html
It's not available on my system as far as I know ( or I'm not using it
correctly) - if it were avaible in the GDAL used to build rgdal it
should allow readGDAL to read from the "/vsigzip/pathgz" string.
Cheers, Mike.

Good afternoon,
I was wondering if the reading and creating of ecw files was planned for
the rgdal library. I suppose it is a bit tricky to include this function
because of the need for the ECW SDK library from ER mapper...
