(RADIATOR) Problems with AuthLog SQL

2002-05-30 Thread Robert Blayzor
Hi Hugh, I have a small problem with AuthLog SQL. I posted a previous message and just assumed to try putting the connect information in the config file. It appears to work. I get the results placed in the database, and trace 4 shows no errors... Thu May 30 09:56:34 2002: DEBUG:

(RADIATOR) Reliable Accounting?

2002-05-30 Thread Doug Clements
Greetings, I recall a while back there was some talk of a super-secret project regarding reliable accounting for Radius. Has anything come of this? There's still demand for it! Thanks! --Doug === Archive at http://www.open.com.au/archives/radiator/ Announcements on [EMAIL PROTECTED] To

(RADIATOR) Possible bug in Radiator's AuthDYNADDRESS.pm

2002-05-30 Thread Leon Oosterwijk
Hugh,Mike, We switched to using the Radiator's Address Allocator routines. I recently discovered what I perceive to be a bug in the mapResult function. I noticed that our NAS was getting sporadic occurances of users getting an address assigned from our backup pool. This pool is only on the NAS

Hello Tony - You can specify multiple DBSource, DBUsername, DBAuth lines exactly as you would for an AuthBy SQL clause. At this time there is nothing you can do if there is no database at all. regards Hugh On Fri, 31 May 2002 02:23, Tony Bunce wrote: We currently run radiator on 2

Re: (RADIATOR) Possible bug in Radiator's AuthDYNADDRESS.pm

2002-05-30 Thread Hugh Irvine
Hello Leon - Your understanding of what Radiator does in this case is incorrect. If the AuthBy DYNADDRESS clause sees that there is a Framed-IP-Address already present in the reply packet, it leaves it alone and does not do any address allocation. This is to allow specific user definitions

Hello Lee - If you are using the standard Radiator dictionary, you should change the configuration file like this: Handler NAS-IP-Address = ip address here AuthBy FILE Filename ./users # Generate MPPE keys to encrypt pptp vpns

I was referring to this post: http://www.open.com.au/archives/radiator/2001-05/msg00335.html Unfortunately our wish list for reliable accounting pretty much says it all. We would like end-to-end reliability from the NAS to the SQL server. I know that's a tall order, and I was asking more in a

Re: (RADIATOR) Reliable Accounting?

2002-05-30 Thread Hugh Irvine
Hello Doug - I don't think anything ever came of that discussion. However, you could fairly easily build a tunnel between the NAS and the Radiator host and route the radius packets across it. Kind of a band-aid solution though. Note that there is a lot of work going on at present on the

Hello Chairath - The first thing to do is check whether you need the Ascend vendor-specifics, which depends on what software version you are running on the MAX. If you aren't already running recent software that supports the vendor-specifics, I suggest you upgrade. Next, you will have to
