I don't have a step-by-step guide for you, but here's a 'step-by-step
guide for connecting to your Radio via SSH to disable the IR receptor'
(http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/Disable_IR_remote_reception). If
you read this, you may get an understanding of how to connect via SSH.
Then you'll
Thanks very much for the detailed reply, and explaining that. I'll
certainly give it a go and let everyone know what I find.
Wish me luck!

Might be a silly question, but what do you mean Good Music?
The Radio sounds very good for what it is and has for drives to
yeah what is good sound(?) you're maybe right but I just bought a sb
radio, do like the colour display, works great but I would like get
some more sound in the kitchen, more bass. I had a noxon2 before, had a
good sound but no good firmware..

caszw: I have a SqueezeBox Radio (SBR) with firmware 7.5.1 r8837, the
latest 'final' version offered. I use the headphone jack to drive my
stereo system and it sounds very good. Assuming the 'speakers' you
intend to use offer a 'line level' input they should work equally
well.
The only issue
thx Ron Stordahl for your answer, the sound good, can't wait until I can
connect it to my sb radio.
about the reboot and the noise, that must be an issue that the speaker

input' to the speakers from the sb radio.

Actually the very loud annoying noise on reboot also occurs when using
regular earphones, so it has nothing to do with 'powered'. Just plug
in a headset and you can confirm it's the SBR that is doing this. I
will be interested in your findings.

no we have changed the subject, but yes I do get a hard sound, not that
high but not really a big deal, I did it with a headset, I also have
the latest firmware
just don't reboot the device or unplug the speakers

Yawn. Doesn't it get boring?
Every time someone complains about the Radio not working with MYSB an
the very same few people claim it's working with a local server. So
what? Who cares? How would this matter to those who expect the thing to
work without wasting money and energy in a local server?
I'm using MSB.com.
For the last few days, I've used the workaround that has been suggested
on Bugzilla.
It involves leaving the radio on. When I'm finished listening, I stop
the stream. I have the screensaver for stop set to the digital clock
and in 30 seconds it looks like it is off.

Hi All
I've been having a very strange issue with my Squeezebox Radio for the
past few weeks. Every night at around the same time it seems to trip
all of the power in the house. I've tracked this down to somewhere
between 5am and 7am.I've tried another Squeezebox Radio power supply
which I

Squeezeboxes are not alarm clocks, so you don't have a lemon. The
Radio's alarm has never worked reliably, and apparently was never

I'll double the BS call.
I buy a car, and the radio doesn't work, the dealer doesn't tell me
'its a car, not a stereo, you want a stereo buy a stereo'.
