Interesting. I think I'll get used to it, but why? Every other button
behaves normally ... hitting the big knob brings up the playlist,
pressing a preset button invokes the preset, pressing Pause pauses the
playback, and so on, whether in screen saver mode or not. Only the
power button loses its f
This behavior has been around for as long as I can remember for the
Radio - when in screensaver, the "off" only gets out of screensaver,
and a second "off" actually puts the radio into standby.

Yes, I just stumbled across the same thing with my new radio. Pressing
the power button just jumps out of the screen saver, and you have to
hit the button again to actually switch it off. None of my other
Squeezeboxes (SB1, SB2, Boom) does that - when you press "off", they
are off immediately.

It sounds like mplayer is not running. I think a special version of
mplayer and the custom-convert.conf file is needed for Synology NAS
because of shortcoming of the NAS Linux.

I think many have found that you should only Power up/down when you want
to do just that and nothing else. For example, never turn the radio on
by merely pressing Play. Always power on first, then press play.
Conversely, never power off to stop a stream. First stop the stream

I've got a similar if not the same problem with Squeezebox Server 7.5.1
on a Synology DS207+. mplayer and PlayReal are installed, and the
player seems to start playing alright, it even fetches and displays the
meta information of the stream. But all stays quiet, and after about 12s
it just stops.
I just got my SB Radio which has the firmware 7.5.1.r9218. When the
screensaver is on and the player is in its playing mode, pushing POWER
button
will not put SBR into Standby mode. It only causes SBR to exit the
screensaver mode and go back to Now Playing. However all PRESET buttons
work properly
