I have no experience with IceCast but it looks like IceCast has a lot
fewer offerings than does ShoutCast. IceCast lists 7,900 streams
whereas ShoutCast claims 44,000 streams.
Anyone know what the difference in offerings are? Maybe IceCast has no
duplicates?
Just curious. Thanks. :)

The Blame game continues,
from ShoutCast forums.
I want to address the Logitec issue directly. Logitec was alerted of
the impending change to the SHOUTcast API as far back as late 2009 and
early 2010. After discussions with them, Logitec chose to not move
ahead with the API migration.
I have a Squeezebox Duet and Radio. The Duet needs a Squeezebox Server
to play AAC format streams but the Radio plays them natively. When I
search for Internet Radio streams using the SBS it shows all streams,
but when I search MSB it will not display AAC streams even if it is the
Radio doing the
Currently there is no other way, you are doing it the only way possible
for AAC on MySB.

As far as I know, we were not contacted about the new API. But blaming
each other is counter-productive, so we are working on it.

experience with the squeezebox radio and also pose a question.
For me the squeezebox radio is an absolutely fantastic device. I live
in a small city with repetitive top 40, rock, and country stations.
Once I stumbled onto the
I just bought the Squeezebox Radio to use as my primary alarm. Having
came on here to do a bit of reading up about it I'm now panicing
because everyone is recommending to NOT rely on this as an alarm (even
though thats what it's advertised as).
I'm hoping in my case it should be reliable but
Still have your old alarm clock? Set it 5 minutes after the radio alarm
and don't worry about it. You'll know soon enough how reliable the
Radio is.

I did as JJZolx suggests for about six months and the Radio alarm never
failed me. Except for the one time that the power went out in the
neighborhood, and I didn't have the battery for my Radio yet. I am
running local SBS, and the Radio was connected via wifi. I've since
moved my Radio to my
