There are no plastic contacts I am aware of.
They are plugged in 24/7 but not playing most of the time apart from the
kitchen radio which is on most of the time I'm home. It has the same
problem though.

You tried rebooting just LMS on NAS? That often solves it. Anything
else running on NAS? Tried turning off everything else, reboot LMS?

In the Radio's Extended Settings menu there is a menu about Power that
displays some measurements. One is whether the battery is loading. Don't
remember what other values are there and not sure whether they are
helpful in any way...

My thought too, (I've gone the reset route already) except that the
firmware shows as 10.0.0r16857 and when I go to the

Well, just for process of elimination, I'd suggest temporarily turning
off any/all programs running on the NAS. Then reboot LMS itself, see if
it works.
Might be a simple port conflict with another running program, which
sometimes can be quite easily resolved.

Yes, there is a firewall in my router. I tried switching it off
