ve found a solution to my problem as in original post though.
I have started using VLC to stream a DVB-T radio signal from a tuner
card to my SB. Working fine but with a few teething problems to sort
out before I declare it a resounding success. I
and has been
abandoned in many countries already. I wouldn't ditch all your FM gear
and buy up DAB just yet ;-)

It's nice to see some healthy debate and to see it from other people's
perspective given the differing online and OTA services available in
different regions/countries. What a wonderfuly diverse world we live in

asy listening stuff,nothing more. It would just be nice to
listen to my favourite "radio" stations in the kitchen/bedroom without
using up limited internet resources, both bandwidth and download
limits, and stream my own music library to the same listening device
be my panacea :-)

bandwidth would hack it.
It would cost very little to add a tuner and make the SB radio a
perfect Kitchen and/or bedroom device.
Am I alone in this opinion?
