You should look into the custom clock applet and helper from erland.
It's a licensed applet, so if you want to use it, you'll have to pay a
little - I believe you can try it free for a limited time?

As a pet project, I've been updating my music library with album
artwork. My Squeezebox Radios are detecting and displaying the images -
but the Now Playing screen insists on overlaying the name of the artist
and track across the top. So I have a lot of great photos of artists

top and bottom text rows, merely by rotating the centre knob quickly
about a half turn when you have a track playing.
Thanks, but you're right - that just toggles the view from Large
Artwork to Small
