I have this exact same issue but no amount of air seems to solve the
problem. From my research this looks like it could be a firmware issue
but, after a factory reset, I can't get beyond the setup menu in order

If it is freezing up on the language selection screen then something
surely went screwy.
Last thing I can suggest is trying to roll back the Radio firmware.

Yup, and then it says they were successfully restored. Then it brings
me to this screen and I can't do anything.

If you are truly doing a full Factory Reset then it should wipe out your
network settings and prompt you to set it up again, including language
and network name, etc..
If you are doing this and it is not asking for this info then something
has gone very wrong.

Currently wifi and red but that shouldn't matter because I can't even
navigate the system menu. I scroll the wheel and the highlighted line
does not move. My squeezebox boom fires up and connects in the same

Is it used via WiFi? If yes, what color is the little WiFi indicator
light on the screen (lower right)?
Red = not connected to your network
Blue = connected to your network but not connected to a server (SBS or
MySB)
White = properly connected to a server (SBS or MySB)
