Well I've put in a fixed IP address but I still have to sit there
watching the blue thing go round in a circle for ages before I can see
my list of albums and select a song and to actually hear some music. I
timed it and it took 10 mins from when I selected the first menu item
until the radio actu

My Local SB Server is assigned the same IP address everytime via DHCP
by the router. But I'm not s
Hi
I've been having the same problems with the Radio.
Just to be sure, when you say to give it a fixed IP address do you mean
defining one in the router's admin page?

Guys on the chance that I will be thought an idiot (like that's not
happened before), I must confess to accidentally doing something that
appears to have cured the intermittent connectivity issues I was having
after upgrading to 7.4.2.
In despair one morning after the Boom quit playing abruptly,
Same issue here - had no issue until the 7.4.2 firmware arrived, but it
has happened very frequently since then. What worked as a solution for
me (so far) was setting a static IP address for the radio by
associating the its MAC address with an IP address in my router.

I have the same problem. Radio dropping connection - and icon becomes
blue.
Thought that the issue was solved with 7.4.2 but no - problem was there
before and the problem is there now. Boom an SB3 have no issues -
connecting. I use both mysb.com and local server with fixed ip.
I actually though a
many thanks for your replies - i'm going to add a static ip address to
my computer and take it from there.
curiously, my first sb player just worked out of the box and protocols,
versions, platforms etc. were just as varied back then. over the years

This is a fair point - I fixed the radio IP address and THEN the server
I didn't try just fixing the IP address of the server, which might be
all that was needed - it was after all the radio that was losing sight
of the server.
Fixing the IP address on the PC running the server is much easier th

When you read these forums, please keep in mind that many do like you:
come here because they have encountered a problem.
The majority of users don't experience (severe) problems and don't have
a need to come to the forum in search for solutions or complaining (or
ranting).
I'm not saying there
I am a newbie to this forum and, apparently, an early adopter to this
technology. I say that because it is becoming apparent to me this
technology really isn't ready for public consumption.
I do not use my SB radio all that much because I choose not to spend
countless hours trying to figure out t
I had this issue and in the end resolved it by setting a Fixed IP
address on both the SB Radio and the PC running SB Server
It seemed to me that the issue was caused by having multiple wireless
devices grabbing different DHCP addresses at different times (ie

I have upgraded to 7.4.2 and then 7.5 because of having bought the
battery, and then having alarm problems on the Boom. Now the radio drops
the wireless network every few hours as described.
The Boom connection and Duet are ok.

Interesting,
I seem to get this as well now, and I "think" it started with the
7.4.2. upgrade. Most of the time now, it seems to have a problem finding
MSB.com, despite having a good wifi connection. And yes, sometimes it
also didn't appear to have wifi connectivity although usually it's the
