Greetings. Perhaps this thread has been exhausted, but I received my new Bombadil frame today, and the bottom-bracket shell had a screwed-on plastic cable guide rather than the integrated metal channels on all the other Rivendells I've seen. Perhaps this is the future direction of the Riv shell.

The bike (Riv) that will do all you're asking would be the Atlantis. Plenty of tire clearance, 29er/26er depending on frame size. I'd like to be able to set one up w/ a 26 rear, 29 front, w/ drop bars, regular canti's etc-that would be fun. Really more of the 80's style mtn bike than the Bombadil
