Winds were 12 - 15 yesterday with gusts (especially those coming off open crop fields) of 25. Rode 68 miles and fortunately, the winds were mostly calm in the early hours as we headed into the expected wind direction. The route was an irregular box shape and we did get the stronger blows later

I did the Cinderella Century (all women) Saturday. A few other Rivs were mixed in with the many carbon thingies. Apparently the course wasn't as windy as it has been in previous years, but still plenty windy on the headwind crawl up Altamont Pass. Hundreds of windmills aren't there for decoration.

I had one of those fail, but not as quickly as yours. VO promptly sent me a replacement, and I haven't had any trouble since then (about a year ago). During that time, on another bike, a genuine Nitto cage broke. I checked with Rivendell, and the said it was out of warranty. Bike stuff breaks.
