Hope to meet some of you then.

Looking for a wheelset for my new SimpleOne (actually a QuickOne- long
story). Trying to get it together on a budget and was hoping to find some
used wheels. Open to anything- new, used, trades, etc.
Let's plan it: Mt Diablo ride on NYD. Maybe Grant and some of the other Riv
folk will join. One of you locals should fill in the details of where and when.
This is gonna be great.

I would be up for a Diablo ride on New Year's Day. Or any Mt. Tam

Hmmm. Need to test the ankle and make sure it is ready. Maybe it won't rain

Jim,
Based on the fact that you said you're bringing your best mud bike, I can
only conclude that you've elected to bring the Pugsley on the trip to the
Bay Area? If so, that's an interesting choice to be certain. Or do you
consider one of your other bikes to be better in the mud than the Pug?
I would have brought the Pug, but I figured that would be a theft target
and not well suited to public transit. I brought my disc trucker with
Rohloff, which looks unremarkable/ugly and has a more or less mud-proof
drivetrain and braking system..

Best of both worlds: flats with straps. I use MKS touring pedals with power

Monstercross! I guess basically a custom Atlantis with e'er so slightly
bigger tire clearance (50+). Degree or two more slope to the top tube, such
that a 8cm Nitto stem makes a perfect 7 when the saddle is just on level

I want a Hunqapillar with a level top tube, a canti-Hilsen or a

Thanks -- that's an idea. In fact, I've got a boxful of close ratio
Reginas and Shimanos (including a corncob 16-22 six!). I do like
closely spread gears between (for this type of bike and riding) say

That 61 custom is sweet, now if only I had a spare $2,700

I have, and love, an A. Homer Hilsen. I bought it when I was 27, and four
years later it's still the best ride I've ever had. I've commuted on it,
ridden it 200 miles in a day on gravel roads, climbed over Lee Hill Road in
Boulder (just like the USA Pro Cycling Challenge!...Uh, only slower),
@Noah,
Your Hilsen is a 700, or 650b frame?
