I just carry lightweight plus valuable stuff in the handlebar bag -
raincoat, camera, wallet, passport, etc, and take it with me at cafe or
food buying stops. Heavy stuff goes in the front lowrider panniers. Here's
my touring bike in Switzerland earlier this year. Ortlieb panniers and

Both those attachment systems would probably work as they cinch close to
the stem. I have to think about how I want to carry weight on the
front...more within the handle bag bag so I can justify the cost...or
invest in low rider type rack and use a lightweight style handle bar bag.

Nice boxy style handle bar bag. However, it would interfere with my hands.
( I'm not asking for much, am I?)
All of you are sooo helpful! Thanks.

Nice Idea -and I had considered this option - but again, I want to avoid
wear on the frame. I'm pretty picky, eh?

Nice color, Leah. I have a Po Campo bag so their quality is pretty good.
the attachment straps are fairly wide, which might interefer with my hand
position. I know you have a Clementine, so think about how I might attach
it. It may work vertically?

Well that bag is sure a looker! Nice sizing too, not too big for my needs.
I just moved my Clementine from garage to back porch, retired for the
winter, but it means it's nearby so I can run back and forth with tape
measure to figure this whole bag thing out. It's critical that My hands

I have both Arkel and Ortlieb handlebar bags, and neither of them obstruct
any hand positions. The mounts on both have a total width of about 8cm,
though the Arkel can be adjusted slightly narrower than that if you desire.
I find the Ortlieb bag slightly easier to detach from its mount than the
I have seen people with the Bento Box type stem/tt bag.. Maybe that would work?

Annie, I have also been looking for a similar bag that I can use on a
variety of bikes without need of tools. I prefer something bigger than the
typical barrel shaped bag, 5-7 liters being ideal. Acorn made a great one
that has been discontinued.

What about a Revelate Designs Gas Tank (sits on top tube near stem) or their

For sale 55 cm Sam Hillborne in the blue/gray color. Albastache bar set-up.
Purchased new directly from RBW in May 2015. Very clean. No dings, dents,
chips, never crashed. Under 1,000 miles on it.
Pretty much the stock build from RBW. I put on new Panaracer Pasela Tour
Guard 700x37 tires
MTB single track and some double. Not terribly technical, but steep climbs are
the norm. I've started doing a bunch of gravel riding too and have been shying
away from riding in traffic. Too many incidents and a few deaths have me
rethinking it.

Annie, this one might be perfect! There are more colors on the website, too! I

Annie, how about the Riv bar tube bag? I'm pleased with mine. Good capacity

I used to own front handle bar bag with that kind of bracket. They worked
well, but I'm looking for something that doesn't require a bracket or a
rack. I'm concerned with weight on this bike as it's heavier than I
expected plus I know I will add a front rack eventually for panniers. I
