Drew. Good catch. I thought it was the sage at first glance with screaming
kids. I think I updated the title. I found emailing the seller a good way to
get a feel on if it is legitimate. There is always buyer protection as well.

I’ve run both 42mm and 48mm Shikoros on my 61cm Toyo, with fenders. 48mm is
somewhat tight but I’ve had no issues with it.

Looks like it sold fast. Pretty cool that they’re working with Steve Rex now,
it would be awesome to see them start using some fillet brazing on a joint or
two.

RBW has a 53cm Hunqapillar prototype frameset (in the original gray/red
color scheme!) for sale with the statement that this is the last chance to
get a new "old style" Hunqapillar and that a redesigned, MUSA version may
be coming.
Having recently purchased a 54 Hunqapillar, I'm intrigued
I recently got these:

Contrary to what they say, the padding is minimal. I don't like most modern
gloves, as I am not looking for padding help.

I had 45 mm Schwalbe Marathons on my '03 Atlantis with fenders. Don't
recall the fender size but it was picked because it was the widest one that
would fit the bike.

Jeff, that’s a huge concern of mine too. The shape is so ergonomic and we
cannot get them any longer. I’m nervous about recking a good thing (except
when they are wet).

Would Compass Snoqualmie Pass (700Cx44) work? And if so, are they too delicate

Have considered this myself, but my concern is that the tape will pull up
some chunks of cork along with it. Since they don't make this shape anymore
and I really like 'em, I've erred on the "Let someone else try it first"
side, ha.

I don't have any experience with cotton tape over (real) cork grips, but
have you considered wrapping some twine over the cork grips and
then shellacking it? My Jones SG bars have cushiony (fake) cork bar tape,
wrapped over with cotton bar tape, "entangled" with twine, and then
shellacked. The
Cotton tape with the sticky, then when you remove it, rag with lighter fluid or
other goop remover, and re shellac the cork. Easy to say when I don't do the
work. Grin.

I doubt the painters tape beneath bar tape on top of cork would provide a
silp free experience Roberta. For summer riding with sweaty hands I wear
these "fishing gloves" from Glacier Bay. They just so happen to make
terrific cycling gloves ! By far most preferred over any "cycling glove"
I've considered it many times, including while riding in the rain over the
weekend.
Love the shape, don't like 'em when they get wet, but hate gloves even
more.
Please report back with your findings?

I didn't want to hijack the Newbaum's new padded tape topic, so I started this
one.
I have older Meisha cork grips, scallaced --the ones with the bulge about 2/3
from the bar end. One issue I have with it is that in the summer when my hands
sweat, and it's hard to keep a grip.

If your rear saddle bag isn't going to hold too much weight, then maybe try
rigging up the "peck deck" ala Ultraromance. Here's a link to pics+text of

Thanks for reporting back, I think I may have to try this when I go camping.

I liked the Nitto R14 rack. Looks like Riv made their own version but it's
sold out. I ziptied a sackville saddle bag for a bit to mine when I had it.

I've got one of these on some horizontal dropouts. Works pretty well:
problem solvers tensioner/hanger
There is also this rear nitto rack that uses the cantilever posts

In order of stability, to my thinking...
-marks rack attached to above brake mounts and mid seatstay mounts
-nitto saddlebag support attached to seatpost and mid seatstay mounts
-tumbleweed t rack
-tubus fly or airy
-nitto campee minus the removable low rider parts

I'll have to try them. I used to just run multiple newbaums, and then
switched to leather. I miss the various Newbaum colors

The trap interfered with my tires so it had to go, but honestly I wanted a
cleaner look to begin with. I suppose it is lighter now, but in this case
aesthetics was the driver. Think of it as a Swiss taillight bracket.
