They're all three good options. I have 2x SON28 Classic (the older version) and
1x Shimano DH3n80 (Ultegra level). I'm happy with them.
One of the SON hubs required servicing. I had been using it on my winter
commuter and think I must have submerged it at some point in the spring thaw.

I was curious what folks experience are with the different dynamo hub
options. The Schmidt Sonn Dynamo hub seem to set the standard but at a
high cost. The other two I was looking at are Shutter Precision and the
Shimano Dynamo hubs. Anyone seen a good comparison? Should I be concerned

Just a side note / PSA for forks with steerers threaded down low — which prob
does not to be said for this group, but still — just make sure the quill stem
expander bolt sits fully below where the threads begin on the steerer,

been trying to find tbe right bike for. Any more (historical) perspectives on
the merits of the B72 versus the sprung B67, which I’ve had installed on my
daily commuter for 7+ years?

To Mark's point, you'll need to secure the freewheel somehow so you can get
at that lock ring with a lot of force - maybe even a pipe wrench. They
used to make a freewheel holder that fit into the jaws of a bench vise (one

Some nice looking bikes on this thread! The White/Blue like John's seems to
be a rarity--but it's such a nice combination.

It's currently paired with a lightweight Ultegra 11-28 cassette but I also
have an 11-34 if I
