Hey Bones,
They made them up to a 59 which had a 58cm top tube, so not a big frame by most
standards. These were made at the request of Blue Lug for their anniversary
with the intent of selling them to the Japanese market.
Only a handful were sold here.
The only two Rivs I’ve owned were this
Beautiful. That’s pretty much my dream bike. They didn’t make them in
larger sizes though did they? Good luck selling it Aaron.

I was told that the mousetrap on the pletscher / clem rack was designed to
carry a bottle of wine. I never tried it when mine was mounted but it kind
of makes since because it doesn't seem to hold anything else in an obvious
way. I might go try it...

Well, I got the Rivendell Custom, rode it for a few days, and ended up
returning it to the Pros Closet. There was nothing at all wrong with it--it
is Mark Nobilette built in 2011--but it was more or a touring set up and
not the Roadeo type ride (lighter tubing) I was after. The bike is in

I'm looking for what the title says. Preferably something that could take
an 11 speed cassette. Does not need to be a heavy build for rough use. It
will be mainly roads and no loads.

Hey Doug in Athens,
I’ve carried a Pedros Trixie tool since I built up my first fixed gear
(RB2). It has a 15mm wrench, cog spanner and 5mm Allen on it and fits to
cage bosses with wing nuts. Great tool if you have axle nuts.
It is too bad about the mix up. Ultimately, I felt it would be a was
Aaron,
Nice build, too bad it doesn't fit and about the mix-up in size. Do you
carry a wrench on rides so that you can change to the other chain ring? I
assume you have to move the wheel back to tension the chain.
Thanks,
Doug in Athens, Ga.

Hello all!
I’ve got my FJS up for sale. You may have seen that I bought it under the
pretense that it was a 55cm. Alas, it’s a 53cm. Full geometry is on the
blug/blahg/blog, but Riv advises this is for PBHs of 79.5 to 83.
Currently set up with a Sugino crank Wolftooth/Willow 40/32 (Phil BB) an
Still looking for a single Sackville MultiSack bag in Olive color or a
complete set in Grey color.
Thanks.

I do wish I had not sold my AR, had fitted it with fatter tires but I just had
no clue then. At least it went to an iBOB list member some years ago.

Interesting question to think about (though I agree it's unlikely to
happen.)
I have an All Rounder from just prior to when the larger sizes got 700c
wheels and then morphed into the Atlantis as a production model. On one
hand, it remains my favorite and most-used "road" bike but, on the other
Very cool, thanks for sharing the pic. I dig short shorts, those look

I think Joe & Joel have some good points, I can't see Grant doing a full
run of bikes based on one of his old designs. Especially the Atlantis,
given that it evolved from the XO-1 (I read Grant said this somewhere, old
interview or Reader) and he has been refining it for almost 30 years.

I get the feeling that Grant will not build bikes with his older philosophy
of the shorter chain stays. If you read the information on the new customs
it says longer chainstays…. Maybe he could be convinced on a custom. I
bought the Hillborne to have shorter chainstays.

Would absolutely be in for that -- with the original geometry, please,
including a size that will actually work (with drop-bar set-up) for someone
between 5'0" and 5'2"! (But, in this round, room in the fork for the 47cm
frame to include a fender!)
