There's something going on with the seatstays, too, they attach
significantly lower than the top of the seatlug. All kinds of choices there
that are different from the Platypus, it's really not a Platy except for
the donated fork.

Lovely pictures of a sharp looking bike set in a really nice neck of the
woods. I happen to have just returned from the area and while I enjoyed the
visit I couldn’t shake the feeling everyone in Asheville was way cooler
than me. Your introductory post has served to strengthen this view. Look
FWIW - The seat post clamp is reversed on the baby bikes.
The seat tube angle on the baby bike is 68 degrees though, so I thought it
had something to do with taking the metal out of the seat tube on the side
that doesn't have all that pressure on it.

Wow, that's a perfect bike - everything about it! For me, in particular,
beside the color, it's the bar tape, the triple crank with a small
cassette, and the continental King tires - it all creates a bike that looks
like it is for riding!
What bar tape and rack are those?

Who did the paint work? Saving the decals, nice touch, plus what appears to
be a raised physical RBW badge on the seatpost...?
Congratulations on this!

Well there ya go. I have a very vague memory that they considered a Silver
brand canti ages ago, I didn't realize it was still on the table.

A great way to store all the bikes in the world would be to never need to
store them in the first place, yes ? They only appear, manifest, "on

It's odd that the original post was removed shortly after it was posted. I
tried to reply but it was gone.
I'll use Boeshield spray for my next frame.
FWIW, Progold has a "Steel Frame Protector" spray of their own. It's
shipable from a few online retailers.

It looks so plainly utilitarian, and basically a run-of-the-mill bike to
the untrained eye, but yet the details and the geometry are anything but
ordinary to the trained eye - I love that about it. I can't justify one at

Thanks Juan! It's a 52cm, which came with dual TT's only for the first
batch or two from my understanding.
Erik, Paul, Ryan, Joe - appreciated! I tend to agree :D

I use the old trek/bontrager version of the Saris cycle glide system (
https://www.saris.com/product/cycleglidestorage-system ) I like it
because you can "compact" your bikes together regardless of handlebar
width. Each rack will hold 4 bikes or up to 8 in s pinch (holding only by
one wheel).
Couple things to move from my parts bin to yours. Some new, some used.
Prices are firm, but let me know if something seems wrong.
Prices are net to me via PP. I’ll ship as economically as possible via
USPS. Expect somewhere between 5-20 depending on size/weight/distance from
Ulster County, NY
Still available and lowering the price to $160+shipping.

For a long time the original stuff was from Peter Weigle, I thought. Perhaps it
still is. Are Riv bikes not E.D. coated?

I have not heard anyone from Riv say the front-facing clamp bolt is to

it's possible I've forgotten, they're planning a v-brake.
One nice thing about this positioning is the bolt is easier to get to with

prototype bicycle frame that is currently not available for purchase
qualifies as a "dictate". But that's just me. I don't ev

It would be very difficult to run a rear canti on this type of frame.

Regarding the backwards SP clamp and the exclusion of brake bridge cable
stops, considering Riv is invested in their own brand of canti brake as
well as v-brake it's self-defeating to exclude one brake type or the other
from any of their frames.

I am likewise pretty amazed this hasn't sold yet. I have been tempted to
get a Homer the same vintage as mine 2cm smaller to run drop bars on. Could
have been a very fun addition to my stable but alas I just threw the dough
