Hello,
I am clearing out my parts bin. These would make nice components for the
upcoming Sam builds. All the prices mentioned below are excluding
shipping. We can finalize the shipping based on destination and USPS
delivery. It's available in east bay, CA for pick up. Thanks for looking.
Folks,
A week ago I put the frame only for sale to see if I could fund a Sam.
Fortunately another bike has come my way and I am selling the entire bike.
It is in excellent condition and may be minor scratches barely visible to
naked eyes. I could spot only one and my camera had tough time
Phew! Bike looks so good. Good luck on our ride tomorrow. Keep us posted.

Wow thanks for the detailed response Max!
I am still on the fence with dyno and lights ; along with that , seat post
(may be Thompson masterpiece ) and cassette I think I can shave off
another 2lbs without sacrificing on comfort/utility. But still debating
about it.

Bingo! Well said. I think what I am chasing is the handling or response on
my homer. The actual weight I don't really care much.

Thanks Steve. I really don't care about speed , I think the speed
difference between my homer and atlantis at my level of fitness is probably
0.5 miles / hr :P . I like the nimble handling of homer and super stable
/smooth feeling of atlantis (depending on my mood )

Thanks Brendonoid. I agree! Brooks saddle, brass bell and kickstands makes
the bike so much more fun and useful. Though I am not using the dyno nmuch
I think I will leave it alone. It always there when I need it

1. Berthoud Aravis Saddle (Titanium rails) - $200
Have used it for around 600 miles. Still not totally broken in / conformed

Has anyone tried surly corner bars on homers . Currently I am running Paul
racers center pull on my homer with trp rrl sr. The braking is good but not
as grabby as my v brakes on Atlantis . Would using mountain bike brake
levers like Paul canti with Paul racers make a difference in feel?

Forgot to mention that I think the biggest adavantage of Berthoud is
it’sset serviceable . It is very easy to replace the top. I initially had a
top with cut out that I replaced with solid .

I am debating bar end vs down tube shifters for the upcoming homer build. I
like the simplicity and aesthetics of down tube but concerned how
“inconvenient “ they could be given longish geometry of rivs. For non
racing and just riding for pleasure usecases does it matter .I am also
considering

Has anyone tried cloth bar tape and shellac combination to get close to the
cream details on Rivendell. I am thinking of these two options
1. White + Clear shellac : I am assuming that clear shellac will slightly
tint the white
2. Viva toshi off-white tape + clear shellac.
Has anyone tried

Have you considered Pacenti Brevet? I also pre-ordered homer and Rich

Oracle Ridge.

Ordered the upcoming homers. It would be nice to discuss ,bounce off ideas
on the components planned for the build. Here is my list
Pace to brevet with shimano rear hub and SON 28.
RH Oracle ridge
Shimano nexave RD
RH 42-26 cranks
11-36 9speed cassette
Silver bar end shifters
Nitto noodle bars
Does anyone know if the wheel size on 58 homers 700C or 650B? The homer
webpage on rivbike states 700 but geometry chart seems to suggest 650b . I
think the geometry chart might be outdated but just wanted to confirm .

I would also check the tension the D-ring . I typically start tightening
all the way , put the shifter under max tension and start loosening it
until it barely holds it in that position. I have found that this gives me
the right balance of tension.
