Yeah, the XT level parallel push v-brakes are awful in terms of squeal, in
my experience. XTR only marginally better - I think the design just has
too many moving parts and pivots to wear out which leads to more potential
for squeal. Good idea on paper but not so good in practice, I couldn't

so a good alternative to harsher solvents when you have to clean sticky
stuff
