John
I mounted my front fender using a daruma bolt trying to gain as much clearance
as possible. The outside arm of the tectro brake interfered with the ridge
profile of the fender. I attempted to peen some clearance but to get enough I
messed up the profile of the fender. After buying a
Howard,
Can you describe the clearance problem you had in more detail? I have been
contemplating the same Zeppelin/Snoqualmie combination for my Sam Hillborne,
which currently has R559s.
Thanks!

I'm talking about their Fender Cushion:
https://www.1up-usa.com/product/fender-cushion/
They don't damage the fenders at all, and the bike is kept quite snug. To
allow for the wide Honjo (650b 62mm) on my custom, I also installed their
Fat Tire adapters, so the fender cushions "float" within the
Rene - what are the covers your refer to that interface with metal fenders on
the 1up? I've been looking for a solid roof rack for fully fendered Rando
machines and the 1up seems likely to damage fenders, no?

Rene,
If you could post a photo of your Cheviot on the 1 up I would appreciate it.

I think the choice of the rack depends on whether you mind/don't mind the
rack attachments to touch your frame. If you don't, then the 1UP is the
best choice (only choice) for fendered bikes and with metal fenders
(haven't tested on plastic) their little covers hold the bike very solidly

2. I second the saris freedom for the 60 Cheviot. I use it weekly and it is a
solid platform for the step through frame.
3 I'm using the VO Zepplin 52 fenders with Compass Snoqualmie pass tires. The
rear fender fit under the tectro r559 brake but I had to use a Paul racer brake
on the front
2. Saris Freedom 2 or 4. This is the only rack I've found which can securely
hold my bikes and not damage the fenders. It also fits our 60cm Cheviot. I've
taken this rack and my Rivs on multiple cross country trips and never worry
about the bikes.

I'm using the 1up rack with no issues on my 60cm Cheviot with the 44mm
Compass tires and 51mm Honjo fenders.
I bought the 1up Super Duty 2" single carrier + 1 bike extension which
allows me to leave it permanently on my Highlander and doesn't interfere
with opening the rear hatch when folded up.
55 cm Betty. Typo!

2. I know Jon on this list has a 60cm Cheviot and he said his wheelbase
measures exactly 48inches. This came up when I was looking for a hitch-mounted
bike rack for my 56 cm Betty and husband's 52 cm Clem. I ended up with the
Saris Freedom 4 Bike rack, which will fit a 48 inch wheelbase, if
