I replaced the vintage Ultegra brifters with the Audax shifters on our tandem a few years ago. I wasn't able to use bar-end shifters because we already had a lever for the drum brake in the end of the bar. The shifters work perfect in friction mode on the 3x8 derailleurs. The shifters are in
