I'm interested if he's not. I need some non-post Kool Stops for my
tandem's early 90 vintage DiaCompe cantis. The stock brakes in general
take a lot of force on the levers to achieve any sort of acceptable
stopping force. I was hoping that the Kool Stops would alleviate the
situation without
The Kool Stop's worked great on my ride the other day. Thanks for the
suggestion, Ron. (And I now carry an additional set in my kit so I can just
ride and replace them as needed).

Discovered Matthauser composition pads in the 70s - these were the only

Sorry, Jim, someone beat you to them.
These have long, unthreaded posts -- not sure if they would work for you.

when I built up my Moser this spring, I bought ebay new-off-floor-bike
Chorus brakes for it. I'm sure they were replaced on the floor bike with

I have to buy some more Kool Stop inserts for my Avid v-brakes (because
their stock pads make me wanna strangle kittens) and I found they're
available on Amazon Prime. They can be sort of a pain for me to get from my
LBS so this is good news.

I've got a pair or two of non-thread-post salmons that I can't use; postage
gets me to look for them, discover if they are 2 or 4, and send them to

Contact me offlist. Send stamps. I will pack, stick on stamps, and forget.
Or will trade

Well done Deacon Patrick. I am always proud of wearing out brake pads,
rims, tires, chains, etc. Sad, though, when a frame cracks.

Indeed, Bill. Blowing through brakes is a good problem to have, especially
