Hi, not sure if this helps, but for what it's worth, here's another
view of a Nitto front rack and a fender, though the rack isn't the
"Mark's" model. There's an attachment point on the underside of the
rack for securing the fender but I don't use it and don't have any
problems so far.
But it's t
The wine cork/Mark's Rack/Honjo combo works great - it killed the fender
sway I had on rough road, as well. Here's a photo:

Michael,
I have a Saluki with a Mark's rack and Honjos. I made a spacer out of
a wine cork and used a long bolt through that sliding plate that
adjusts the rack forward and back. Getting that hole in the fender
just right is tricky, my fender is not perfectly lined up. It did

There was quite a gap on my 61 AHH with 700c tires between the rear fender
and the kickstand plate, and I was lucky that these plastic spacers I had
were just the right size; otherwise I was going to use corks and cut them to
size as many others have done. I may still do that at some point if I'm

Steve,
Saw your Saluki before, and that's how I got the idea for the
Berthoud. It really looks like stainless steel to me. I wouldn't
have guessed that it was painted. Very nice, btw. Beautiful bike.

Mark's Rack does not have a fender attachment like the Mini or M-12.
I hadn't considered using a second stay. That's a really elegant
solution if you don't need a front rack. I may do that temporarily.

René,
Nice rig, indeed! You know, I just used the rubber washer from the
Honjo installation kit on the kickstand plate, and the fender line
seems fine. Maybe that's b/c it's a 700c wheel? I think there's more

I actually drilled the hole in the fender, as mine (purchased from VO)
didn't have it. You have a very nice Bombadil setup, I'm wondering whether I
should plan to put fenders in mine when I get it next week, or rather not
run fenders since I plan to take it
Nice rig Rene! (Sorry, I couldn't find that special e.) I used a
similar trick when I adapted a Blackburn rear rack to the front of a
Bombadil, although the front/fender hole was drilled into the rack
itself. Michael, you could also use an "L" bracket on the front of
the rack using the (presumed)
Michael,
I installed Honjo fenders on my AHH and bolted the front of the front wheel
fender to my Mark's rack using a plastic adapter I had lying around (a
cilinder originally included in a TV mounting wall rack) about 1.5 cm long.
The Mark's rack doesn't have a proper fender mount, but I just use
Does the Mark's Rack have a fender attachment point like the Mini or
M-12? I'm not sure it does. You could also use a second fender stay.
