I read it as "no more Sams or Appaloosas for 648 days, so if you like the ones
we have now (in these colors), get 'em now."

" not being able to get an orange Sam or a green/silver Appaloosa for at

I read this as those colors might not be available for those models, not
that the models are going away. The Appaloosa was such a swift seller (and
loved by many, including me), I cannot imaging not bring
For me, the main appeal of the mountain mixte is that it fits a variety of
riders. With an ~80cm PBH, I'm in between a small and medium on many Riv
models. If I were to go small on a Joe or under 50 on a Hunqapillar, I'd be
too cramped to use swept bars, even with a 130mm stem. But if I were go

I don't know anything specific beyond what's in the Blahg. After the Roadini
there's something new for the Atlantis. I hope it'll have the new ball and

Did you get any hints as to the changes coming to the Atlantis? Is this in
addition to the new 650B versions?

I owned a Homer between 2010 and 2013 or thereabouts. That was becoming my
"serious" brevet bike, and I sold it to help do a full on no-holds-barred
brevet bike build on a Rawland Stag (and that frameset has also moved along)
I have never owned a Hunqapillar. I did own an Appaloosa for a littl
Maybe you're like me and you've cycled through some buying and selling, though
you had a hunqapillar and a homer for some reason.

I own two Rivendells , plus my portion of a tandem. I have an 8 year old
Samuel Hillborne and a newish Rosco Bubbe road bike that serves as my daily
commuter. This Mountain Mixte will make three.

Dstein: I think arm length and style of riding matter much in this equation.
I'm a little guy with short arms and everything I ride has the bars level or
higher than the saddle; the last time I rode drops they we're almost comically
jacked up, but it felt great. But - as you addressed - I'm not

I don't get the appeal of the upright mountain mixte. I guess it doesn't
have to be upright, but they usually seem to be setup w/ albatross bars. To
be honest though, I don't see the appeal of upright bars for anything other

I too purchased medium bubbsloosa. It's not new per se just a second run of
the same bike from last year. I almost bought it last New Year's Eve when they
were trying to clear out inventory. When they did the re-run I got on the
list. The price was tooo good. I justified as a purchase f
Chris asked about my build plans:
Yes, you are right the shelves are stocked. I won't have to buy much of
anything. I may buy an Albatross bar/stem, or I might do a drop bar build.
We'll see.

I've got a Mtn Mixte from the first batch and my PBH is about 78.
The bike is a great fit so don't think you need to be Roman's size to fit one
well.
I found myself just a tiny bit stretched out with standard Bullmoose bars but
with Albatross and a 9cm stem, the reach is perfect.
I ride it al
Ok. So the Mixtes are the second batch. I'm getting one of them. Originally
they were thinking July for delivery of the frames In any rvent looking

I hope the medium mountain mixtes are as big of a hit as the extra large ones
were, and that the success prompts a run of in-between-sized large ones
And that i can afford to jump on it when it happens.
