I ended up using the SOS thumb shifters with Albas on my wife's Betty Foy. She just did not get the bar end shifters. Using the Shimano barends in index mode with either as barends or with Paul/VO/IRD thumb mounts would be another way to go. Nice that you can switch the Shimano barends between ind

I agree with Jim about the adjustment issue. If dialing in index shifting isn't something you've worked with, I'd recommend having your LBS go over the bike. I've had grip-shifters on several bikes - including my current RANS recumbent - and I've never had the problem you're describing. Joe B
