I have had the same issue with bags (Carradice Barleys) on several
bikes with sprung saddles. I rectified the "wearing" on one by
attaching a Bagman bag support to the lower rails of the saddle. I
have heard some complaints from people about these either coming loose
or breaking the saddle rails
doc, do you have larger, clearer pictures with closeups of your solutions?

For not much money or effort you can rig up either a rack or a bracket
that pulls the bag back from the saddle and positions it in a more
upright, accessible fashion. Whether sprung or un-sprung, tilting a
bag to an almost horizontal angle so it can be fixed to the seatpost
is asking for trouble.
