My Homer started out with Billie Bars, a 110mm stem, and thumbies. The short reach made for a very comfortable upright riding position, but for me, steering felt compromised. I think if I had switched to a 130mm stem, that might have solved the awkward steering, but I decided to convert to drop

I had the same experience with bar ends as Jim with my Albatross bars and switched to Billies with thumb (L) & trigger (R) shifters. I would not like bar ends on Billies unless I had a very long stem, were talking unobtainable long. I love the extra hand position in front of the grips for heads

Hi Raf What bike are you thinking of putting Billies on? They come back quite a bit, so if your bike wasn't necessarily designed for upright bars with a long front end(like current Rivs), you may run into problems with bar end shifters. I put a set on my 96 All-Rounder, and kept hitting my knees

Hi Raf, I have an Albatross on my Toyo Atlantis. But on the MIT Atlantis with long top tube, I preferred the Billie bar specially the longer grip area which allows me to have more area to grip on the bend part. But I use thumb shifters on the Billie :-) On Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at 1:49:14 PM UT

Scott, that is a great looking bike. I like the shifters mounted on the stem. I just got the Billie's for my Cheviot. They are really nice :) On Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at 1:23:24 PM UTC-7, scott minor wrote: > > Took some cockpit photos today of billie bars on my chev, thought I’d > share. S

Took some cockpit photos today of billie bars on my chev, thought I’d share. Stem is 12cm simworks, Silver/IRD stem shifters, Dia-comp brakes. I’m really enjoying this setup! https://flickr.com/photos/147564748@N06/sets/72157698354507761 -- You received this message because you are subscr

I have bars very similar to the Wavie that came on my Handsome Devil. Mine are pretty wide (60cm?) and they don't come back much at all. With the same stem you are going to be more stretched out on the Wavie compared to the Billie. I would say the Wavie is not much closer than the top part of a

I went from albatross to billies on my 60cm chev and now that I’ve ridden it for a couple months (road/path) have to say I prefer the roominess of the billies, and also the more angled hand position when back on the grips. The billies put your hand/wrist less thumb-forward than the albas which

I would also consider a sweep bar like the Jones (loop or no loop), MapAhearne or upcoming Wavvie (gravy?) bar. I find that my experience with the angle of Albatross grips is not conducive to the control I want when doing anything but upright cruising. This might not be your experience but is wo

If you think Albas would work on the Trek ,IMHO, Billie's are an improvement. I have them on a MIT Atlantis and like them a lot. You do get two good hand positions and possibly three. If they don't work on the Trek put them on your Joe. You may need a longer stem with them on the JA. My 2 cents
