Funny - I see it the other way around. The Atlas is just more expensive due to
polishing. Where's that celebrated satin finish folks like on their Sugino
products?

Roger, if your rim is mill finished, then it would be the "no BS" version
of the Atlas . As you mention, it's likely a marketing term, but it's an
Atlas just like the others minus the polishing. The cost reduction appears
to be simply the less production cost in the finishing.

The NoBS rim seems to be 700C only.
Back a year ago when Velocity was replacing a cracked Synergy OC 650B
rim for
And there ya' go... that looks like a winner for the heavy duty crowd.

Looks like you can get the noBS version for about half the price.
http://velocity-dev.com/index.php/product/rims/nobs-700c
Looks like the premium price on the Atlas is for the finish work.

They are polished and look silver... Actually they look like the Velo-Orange
Raid and Diaganal, yet appear to be thicker than the Diaganal.
Anyway..look silver to me :).

Also, not MUSA or silver, but a bit lighter on the scale if you trust the

Wide, likely strong, good looking, MUSA.

A lot of Velocity's rims went up in price over the past year. The Synergy
isn't far from $100, and IMO it's a mediocre rim. I'm glad to have another
650B option. I wish the Dyad 650B would come back...

There are many great alternatives for MUCH less $...
What's so special about these rims to justify a price over $100 ???
