For real... If you've got, em, ride em. The gas situation is worse than I
recall the 1974 gas crisis being... I counted 50 cars in line at each of
2 gas stations this morning. I'm getting barraged with emails and phone
calls from friends and family asking are there any gas stations with
I might manage to finish off my Sam Hillborne build while we wait it out in
DC. What's the one piece that hasn't arrived? Fenders, of course!

20-some years ago, I got to go w/ Dad on a trip to the Oshkosh airshow,
spent all week there (selling airplane brake discs, for a friend of my

to take a day off... so, we jumped in the car and drove from Oshkosh to

I went to college in Sault Ste Marie, and Thompson was about 30 miles from
where I grew up.

Sounds like your snow biking credentials are genuine. I was in Ironwood,
MI, near the WI border, on April 1 many years ago have never seen so much
snow in my life. They said it was spring because they had half the roads
in town open.

With the subway down for maybe a week might be doing some urban adventuring
on the Bombadil to get into work. I have never commuted cross Borough so
will have to map out a route carefully. I have an awful sense of direction
so wish me luck!

Things are windy in Philly right now. My school is closed for two days. Things
are supposed to get bad in 2 hours. My girlfriend is a nurse and she had to
bring extra clothes in case she needs to stay at the hospital.
