A bit of progress today, had a first look at the sprockets and hubs today
and was very happy, Wanted to take them home but this guy I found seems a
good find. He suggested making the holes in the hub for me to bolt the
sprockets on so Big woohoo to that. He is threading them as well for me.

They are plastic, but they are acetal plastic and not ABS. They are
thinner. I can actually pick this vehicle up and move it around. When the
mount broke, I had to pick it up and carry it about a 100 yds back to the
house. That was fun.

Agreed, very nice. I love the amount of suspension travel. I think watching
a tank's suspension is the coolest part, heh

When (if) I build the turreted top, it will be classified as a tank. If I
use the flat top, it will be classified as a supply vehicle. The turret
should be large enough to hold a small marker.

Did it have a turret or was it a fixed gun?

Fantastic. That should help you gain experience with two categories of

What did you mean by open turret? Did it have multiple barrels like
a Flak gun? I'm thinking it was a priest, but those have a howitzer in
the body.

The Bulldog is a closed top tank. You might have seen a Hellcat tank
destroyer. It has an open top with a machine gun mount on the top.

I guess I should've know to qualify that statement. That's the only
difference as far as driving them.
The engine, tranny, tracks, bogies, sprockets, and most of the deck plates
are the same. There are
differences in some of the hull areas and of course the turrets.

fairly near me, if you need pics.
