Chris,
The bolts do not pivot inside the rubber the holes in the rubber were
drilled with a 4.5mm bit, bolts are 4mm. However due to the distortion in
the rubber when you drill it, it is still a push-fit (small finger force) to
push the bolt through the rubber. The hinge effect comes from the lu
Like George said it came from a shop here called Clarke Rubber, they mostly
stock pool stuff, outdoor furniture etc, but have a selection of neoprene
and foam rubbers and foam, however this stuff they had to order in.
It is 12mm thick, and we had it supplied in 20mm wide strips 1 meter long.

Research the measurements of the tank varient you plan to build, and
divide each measurement by the denominator of the scale you want. For
1:6 scale, divide the real life measurements by 6. If it comes out
less than 3ft (it most likely will not), then try a scale that will
reach 3ft. It would prob

Chris,
You saw the tank a couple of years ago in Gettysburg.
Thanks,

Derek,
The measurements are as follows:
Hull length 39"
Hull width 20 5/8"
Hull height 8 7/8"
Hull and turret height 13 7/8"
These are all approx. measurements. Might have to add a 16th here or there.
I talked to Frank who is one of the Founders and has seen the tank. I

Ben,
The tracks I started using my hollow pin chain were originally going to be
built in a
similar way, but I couldn't find rubber sheet like that. Do you mind
telling me where
you got the rubber and how thick it is? Thanks.

i do have one little question - what stops the rubber pads from binding up
on the bolts? are the pads mounted onto the threaded areas of the bolt?

Ok so far I have a electric wheelchair drive system i.e. 2 geared
motors, motor speed controller, and joystick controller, and
batterys I think this is a very large drive setup for a tank..
hence my tanks name will be "overkill". The motors with the gearbox
are about 13 inces long and about 4

Bob,
Looks like a nice build so far. If I was closer I'd probably take it off
you hands since
I happen to have some tracks I could put on it. I think my older track
design would
work well on a fixed suspension. Was it built to the 36" rule or is it 1/6
scale?
