Work has slowed mainly because I'm getting into the nitty gritty stuff like
suspensions, mantlet, tracks, wiring, etc. I think I have more hours
building the mantlet than I do building the rest of the turret. It's not
easy to cut 6 half circles and get them to fit together nicely on a rotating
ax
hmmm at least two boxes. Payday is this friday, and the bills
are already paid for this month :)

As I have reminded others building modern, low profile tanks, as the length
is decreased being built to the 36" rule so does the height. Keep that in
mind. It can become a big problem with gravity feed magazines in our tank

Today, I ran across the plants bearing supplier, from Motion

Asked him about imported 2060 - K2 attachment chain.
He knew all about it, and said it should cost about $50 / 10 foot box.

Hi Gregory
I have run a dual boot before. I set it up as seperate drives and
selected which drive/OS at boot. But as it was only one program I
wanted I gradually just did with out. But every now and then something
pops up and I think 'Sketchup would be useful right now' =D

Hmm, have you ever considered setting up a dual boot system, so that you can
run Linux or Windows? I personally use Windows myself, because of the apps I
use.
Also, welcome!

Hi Ben
I have tried to run Sketchup under wine in Ubuntu but the work area of
the screen remains black. If I need to I shimmy over to the mrs laptop
and use that. I have run XP as a guest in virtual box so I can use
google but again it slows up and glitches due to the heavy load.

Hi Neil
Thanks for the info. I was aware of the minimum 36" and it may well be
that I change my proposed scale. It is early days and I have to also
see what hardware I will be using in terms of motors/gearing which
will give me part of the overall sizing to suit. Once I have my Tamiya

Hi Chaps
Thanks for the welcome =D I live just outside Wakefield on the south
side. My Tamiya was despatched today so hopefully tomorrow I can start
having a look. I use Qcad which is a linux based CAD package which
outputs files as DXF's. I have just used it to draw round and scale up
from a side
Now THAT is a thing of beauty! Would you be open to sharing the CAD file with
us? If you would, we can find out how much it would cost to get one cut and
bent locally.
Pete.
