Hi, here's a bit more info for the person who started this thread:
The new crimp tool from Multi-Contact for their 4mm connectors will work with
those and those only. A different M-C branded tool would be required for the
3mm connectors; one also needs a "boot puller" for those...all this for a

Solarline 1 are the MC3 connectors, the older ones without latches.
Solarline 2 are the MC4 with locking latches.
Tyco are made by a different company, oddly enough named Tyco. Only a few
panels use them, in fact I have seen only one brand.
None of them are compatible with each other.

Carl,
We have been working on a small (20 KW) PPA which I'll call a "partial pay"
model. The main advantage is that it transfers tax credits for the
non-profit / municipality. They end up getting as much as 50% more KW
(Massachusetts) than they would otherwise and the investor ends up making
Yes, I have seen MC 4 Solarline 2 advertised as the same product.

I assume the old MC is the same as the MC1 and Solarline1?
Also that the tyco, Solarline 2 and MC 4 are also the same?
Plese correct if I am wrong.

Dana is going backpacking, the lucky dude. Hope he remembers his long

Anyway, he reminded me that it is vacation time, and that I might want to post
a reminder about how you can put the list delivery on hold if you need to.

Hi Jeff,
Yep had this problem a many times.
The only "fix" I came up with was a new mate. Every time a new mate
went in, problem went away.
On the same note, I've got a Flexnet on a system and it seems less
reliable than the mate.
For example it was currently set to start at 55%, customer
Hi Glenn
This is a real problem, but so is all battery care. What I do is to turn off
the battery system before, let it stand for one to 6 hours, then measure the
resting voltage. I know this is hard to do, but using the curves and a very
accurate meter it does sort of revel the state of charg

I have been tasked with creating one for our company now that we have more

1. You have to use the one that matches the modules you are using.
2. The more connectors you have in a system, the more chance for
problems. We install a PVC J-box with panel mount connectors such that the
factory leads can reach without spicing or extending.
3. From the J-box, un-sp
Hello Jay and Tump,
I set up a mate for autostart six weeks ago. Before leaving the
remote job site I started the genny from the mate by raising the two
minute start voltage above the current battery voltage and waited two
minutes. The genny started confirming that the AGS was functioning
We have been putting the wires into hi temp split loom (nylon temp rating is

not hot in this area and they seem to hold up fine. Ask me in another 10
years or so.
Generally we use 2 sizes of loom. and weave the smaller int
Tump,
Interesting. No AHJ on my job in NH. Just trying to comply with the intent of
the code and common sense.
Next time, with the same AHJ, you might try using plumber's CVPS DWV pipe, it's
not conduit :-)

I have not done it. But I attended the first of their two mandatory

parties that did indeed go through with ALL of the paper work, jump through
the hoops and get the grant. They said it was worth it for them,
OUTBACK/CHRIS you out there??
Jay this sucks! I too have seen this way too often. It has gotten to the
point despite changing out the mate I now suggest to my clients, that every
month they "repole" their mate. I also mark the port that the mate plugs
into & tape the dead front mate 2 port ju
Anyone out there have experiences w/ this program? Filling out the paper

in Maine.
He is looking for someone that has & might be interested in filling out &
filing out their grant proposal.
Please contact me off list. Than
