[RE-wrenches] Grounding question

2013-08-01 Thread Mac Lewis
Hello wrenches, I am wrapping up a job that we adopted mid-installation, that has a couple grounding options. I am looking for the best way to do it. It is 18 x Solyndra SL-150-182 with 18x Tigos and an SMA 3000-HF. I am unfamiliar with the Tigo's and the Solyndra. As I understand it, Tigo's

[RE-wrenches] BIG dual axis trackers

2013-08-01 Thread Chris Daum
Dear people: Does anyone have a line on a really large dual axis tracker--something that would hold 25 or 30 modules in the ~250W range? I've seen some really big commercial units, but I have a client wanting a dual axis tracker that'll hold 25 of the Helios 255s. THANKS! Chris Daum

Hi Allen, The absorption time is actually only 1 hour for the C-series controllers. Battery manufacturers are always the final authority on how their batteries should be charged. If they say you can charge at 14.2-14.4V indefinitely, then increase the float setting. Eric

Allan, Do you know what the daily Ah consumption is, or alternatively what the daily DOD is on the batteries? 830W of PV on a PWM controller should have a peak amperage of about 48A (830W รท 17Vmp = 48.82A). This is only about a C/18 charge rate, which is fairly low but should be workable as
