Thanks Bill, and everyone else:
When I was a CA solar contractor, I designed and oversaw the installation of
over 20 “grid-tied battery back up systems”. I now have an approved application
into the Southern California Edison SGIP program, spec’ing a 16 kWh and 8 kW
“smart” e-storage system. The
They are expensive. But from a technical point of view, very few people
understand (or know how to use) the concept of “Days of Autonomy”. I personally
use a 3X factor but if I want to be extra conservative and the application is
is critical I use a 4X factor.

If you are aware of any suppliers with these in stock, please let me know
privately. I need 27 of them.

How or can a Harris DC microhydro (<.6 KW) work with existing PV
charged Outback FP2 (or Radian for that matter), whilst charging a ~16KW
L-ion "24" volt battery ? I think that's a real word. The output of
the hydro varies over time from .6KW to .1KW

I would think the standard diversion controller setup would work, but
not sure. I've been hoping that the Li+ manufacturers would add a relay
control to their BMS. Basically when the battery thinks its charged it
just turns on the dump load. I don't think the Li+ folks are near that

Blue ion and there BMU can control a relay as a dump or anything else,
their BMU is far ahead of most. You will need to contact Blue Ion to get
this set up but once its configured your in great shape.
In the Outback program you can use the voltage preset as a dump but

Does anyone have real life experience with auto gen start using the SOC
setting for a Sunny Island system when using Blue Ion Batteries? Or a stand
alone AGS that can dial in an accurate voltage start above 48 volts (48.5
or 49)?
Thanks
