I have had a much different experience with older batteries. 1. check the SG and volts under load like at night. And see if there are any weak ones. Since you have 2v cells you can afford to lose a few. 2. If they all check out more or less equal, and i’m guessing that they are using lots o

What I don’t understand is that the inverter was limiting amps while the generator was not. If the generator wasn’t able to produce the power, then it would have had the usual issues which causes the inverter to drop it and then reconnect. But that wasn’t happening so it appears the generator

You have had many good suggestions but note you are on border line power, at 2200 teet your power is down 10% note gen's are 80% of name plate, and you are asking for 7.2 kW from a Genny that with atmospheric correction is 7.2 kW On Fri, Oct 27, 2023, 8:27 AM Amos Post via RE-wrenches < re-wrenche

Hey Will, At the risk of being overly simplistic and obvious, have you kept good specific gravity records over the years? Are they showing lowered or uneven readings? I've often been able to get some more life out of flooded batteries by raising the charge and equalize voltages, particularly if t

Hi Will, I'd keep inching the start voltage down and see if it helps. Sometimes old batteries just operate at a lower voltage and will sag more under load but they will still carry the load OK Of course you can: 1. Do all of your high power stuff when the sun is out. 2. Disable the generator s

Wrenches, Will This is a hack trick but it can work as long as you don't have failed cells, bring the static voltage up to 26 by adding just one battery, this might be easier on the logistics issue. By doing this you will in the end sacrifice the additional Battery but increasing the static voltage

Can anyone explain why changing to Support mode on the generator input boosts battery charging amps? The Radian manual explanation for Support mode gives no clue about this "fix". It only states that Support mode will allow batteries to provide extra power to loads if demand exceeds max. gen progr

Hello Wrenches, I installed my off-grid system in 2008. It’s 24 V using 2 V industrial FLA batteries. As you can imagine after 15 years the capacity of my battery bank is significantly less than it used to be. For logistic reasons, I won’t be able to replace them till around June of next year,
