#2, XW has only a volt meter. Its not set up for an amp hr meter add on.
Outback is set up for amp hr with Flex net. Magnum is set up with their
battery cap meter add on.
#3 yes they need to be reprogramed for aging. All take different programing

I suggest you use Solid State relays.
They come in 12v power voltage and up to 300VDC switched voltage, no arcs, low
power draw and more reliable than mechanical relays, just make sure you use a
good heat sink.

and be very cost effective. However retrofits can be a nightmare unless great
care and understanding of fixtures, loads etc are understood, sounds a lot like
offgrid solar.

I also live in a area without much lightning, however I install one in most
systems for the simple reason of insurance.
If there is lightning damage, the insurance company can't use that as a way to
not pay any claims.

If the voltage from the generators is low ( probably) then a old trick is to
use a buck/boost transformer to bump it up the voltage.
This trick has the advantage that it doesn't have the hz be too high.
