Gust a thought. Look into switch mode power supplies. DC to DC buck
converters. They are very efficient and not to expensive. Try Mouser and
Future Electronics for industrial grade products.

Hey Folkswe have a customer with a 24VDC fan for venting a green house
and we would like to be able to control speed on it instead of just
on/off...The fan draws 22 Amps at 24VDCAny suggestions on how to

i have the same thing in my greenhouse...
on a 24 volt dc system, i wired in a switch to change my two fans from parallel
(noisy and excessive air movement) to series. i run them in series 99% of the
time... plenty of air, less noise and long life on the brushes. (of course this

The same PWM control used on charge controllers is also used on electric
vehicles for DC motors. We've done many different ones and different
voltages and sizes.
