I used them one time and went back to rails.
It would have been prudent to build a thin plywood jig to match the PV you are
using.
The advantage of rails is that you have somewhere to attach wires, boxes (and
inverters).
Thank you,

hi Maverick,
This install sort of follows the thread on wrenches.
The client decided this was the racking he wanted.

The is always right!
Just carefully align the S-5!s with a mason line and use a plywood template or
some other material template to keep these straight.
We also use a lot of S-5! and have Milwaukee 12v impact drivers to set the
screws. Check the torque with a wrench as well.
Good
Great, I was wondering about a impact on those screws, but it'll speed things
up alot.
thx,

Just to be sure. We only use a little 12v version. Not a big 18v.
Also get the dewalt universal joint 1/4 drive thingy.
Thank you,

I agree - the regular S-5! clamps with L-Feet and rails adds a lot of
flexibility. Plus, it is compatible

An uninvited two cents here...
Assuming the missing word in your first sentence is "customer", I
have never understood the old "customer is always right" line. In
my experience, the customer is often wrong, and it's my job (in my

Jay,
It should go without saying, but don't forget a dab of thread lube on all
the set screws, especially if you are using an impact or drill on them.
I've had several S5! set screws gall when thread lube was forgotten.
